Calling all Boro fans

Dear Boro Fan,

Re: FIRE (FaST Initiative for Rushmoor Enterprises)

The FaST Board is always looking to enhance the benefits of belonging to the Trust for its Members. Our latest initiative is FIRE where we are looking to put together a number of businesses in the Rushmoor area that will offer a discount on their products and services to FaST Members on production of a current Membership Card.

Do you have such a business or do you know of one that might be interested in participating in this initiative that will increase their revenue while at the same time delivering a tangible benefit to FaST Members?

If so please can you pass the relevant contact details to Graham Ellicott via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and he will contact them by the end of August.

 In the meantime if you have any further suggestions for raising monies for FaST or in general then please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or see us the game.

 COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

 Dave Workman (on behalf of the FaST Board)

Boro Flags

After a few problems revolving around suppliers and prices the two winners of our 'Flag Design Competition' are about to be produced by Strategic Design Studio Limited. The total cost for the 8' x 4' flags is just under £400 and Garry Thornton now has a cheque that will allow him to place the order. At this stage we are not sure exactly when they will be available for use.

Basingstoke Fund-Raiser

The subject of making the away game at Basingstoke on the 28th August into a fund-raising event was suggested on the Fans Forum a few days ago.

Several fans showed a willingness to walk, run or cycle to Basingstoke. This idea was discussion at this evening's FaST Board meeting and although there was some reservation about the time available organise things, the concensus was that we should give it a go if there is sufficient interest.

At this stage we agreed the following actions:-

1. Rob Matheson would investigate a possible route probably in part along the Basingstoke canal taking safety into account.

2. We would produce sponsorship forms for the participants to gather their own sponsorship.

3. Given the differing modes on transport and rates of progress, each participant would be largely responsible for their own safety. Having said this we should be able to organise support by phone to pick up anyone who gets into difficulties during the event.

4. Participants would be responsible for arranging the own transport back from Basingstoke though we feel sure that Boro fans will assist where they can.

If you are interested in taking part in this fund-raiser than please e-mail Dave Workman at the address on the top right of this page so that we can properly gauge the interest. Please indicate your method of reaching Basingstoke (Walk, Run, Cycle, Other). It is after all a bit further than Fleet!

FaST Annual General Meeting 2010

FaST members will have received these communications from Linda advising them of the upcoming Trust Annual General Meeting:-

Dear Member,

The Farnborough Supporters’ Trust AGM is to be held on Wednesday, 9th June 2010 in the upstairs Platinum Lounge at the Clubhouse starting at 8pm.

As written in the FaST rules, half of the elected Board will be standing down, whilst the other half will remain on the Board for a second year. This ensures continuity. Four of the Board members are standing down, although three are putting themselves forward for re-election. We are therefore looking for new members to join the Board.

If you wish to stand for election or know someone who is interested, please fill out the attached nomination form and either email it back to me or post it to me at 27 sand Hill, Farnborough, GU14 8EW.

I must receive all nomination forms back by the end of Thursday, 20th May 2010.

Please check that the person you are nominating is happy to stand, as I will be seeking their agreement before their name is put on the voting slip. They must be a member of FaST or willing to join FaST. Please think about putting forward a nomination.

Nobody can serve on the board if they

a) are subject to bankruptcy order or have in place a composition with their creditors;

b) are disqualified under the Companies Directors Disqualification Act;

c) have a conviction for an indictable offence (other than a spent conviction as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974);

d) are or may be on the basis of medical evidence be suffering from a mental disorder;

e) fail to abide by any rules for the conduct of elections made by the FaST board.

Once all the nominations are in, I will send out a voting form containing all the names. If there are 4 or less names on the voting form, then voting will just be a formality. However, if more than 4 people stand, there will be a full voting procedure. This will be explained in a letter nearer the time.

We are also looking for a Press Officer, who will be a co-opted member of the Board, so if you are interested in trying your hand at journalism, websites or IT in general, please get in touch.

Yours faithfully

Linda Soltysiak

Secretary

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Member

As previously advised, the FaST AGM is being held on Wednesday, 9 June in the Platinum Bar at the Clubhouse starting at 8pm.

I am delighted to say that Linda Bubb has been nominated to join the FaST Board. Graham Ellicott, David Hughes and Rob Matheson have been nominated for re-election. As one member has stepped down and there is only one new nomination, there is no need for a vote.

Attached are the Agenda for the evening and last year’s AGM minutes for your perusal. The accounts for last year will be available on the night. If you are unable to attend and would like to see the audited accounts, please let me know and I will be happy to send you a set.

I look forward to seeing you.

Yours faithfully

Linda Soltysiak

Secretary
