Tiverton Programme Notes

FaST Programme notes – Tiverton Town, January 30, 2010

Announcing Rob’s Raise the Roof Ride – 40 miles to Hemel Hempstead!

We’ve hinted at it for a few weeks, but now we can proudly reveal FaST’s next fund-raiser, Rob’s Raise the Roof Ride!

Rob Matheson, a FaST Board member and the second of three generations of dedicated Farnborough Supporters, is a keen cyclist and wants to put this to the test to raise as much money as possible for the next phase of the PRE development, the stand roof. Rob will be cycling from Cherrywood Road to the Boro fixture at Vauxhall Road, Hemel Hempstead on Easter Monday, April 5 – a distance of some 40 miles, and we need YOU to provide him with the incentive to get there.

From today we will be taking your sponsorship donations to spur Rob on to complete the course. Forms are available for you to sign and donate at the FaST table, and for those who feel they can raise further cash from friends or work colleagues, for you to take away.

If you’re reading this at the game, you will hopefully have seen Rob and his trusty cycle being presented to you in front of the main stand. If you’re reading at home – look out for photographs and more details in the next home programme. Your sponsorship will be for the entire ride and there is no minimum limit. All donations will be acknowledged and, in the extremely unlikely event that Rob fails to finish, will be refunded.

You may find it easier to donate online. For this purpose we have set up a Paypal account using our regular email address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   . Simply log on to Paypal (set up an account if you don’t already have one) and send your sponsorship to this email address where it will be quickly acknowledged.

Everyone who knows Rob Matheson also knows his love and huge support for Farnborough FC. In addition to the FaST membership, his Raise the Roof Ride has the full backing of Simon Hollis and everyone at the Club.

More information as the weeks go by, but if you want to be among the first to donate, today’s the day.

 FaST Race Night

This event seems to be fated! Once again problems have arisen to prevent us from holding it on the last date mentioned. We’re now working on an evening very shortly after the close of the season and will advise this date as soon as we feel sufficiently confident!

With Pat absent and Dave forgetting his Club Shop keys to get the buckets out there was no bucket collection at this match.

The Platinum Lounge 'Guess the Crowd' prize of £28 was won by Colin Weedon with a guess of 639. The actual attendance was 640.

Hemel Hempstead programme notes

FaST Programme notes – Hemel Hempstead

May we, the Farnborough Supporters Trust Board – Graham Ellicott, Peter Gough, David Hughes, Hazel Manning, Rob Matheson, Linda Soltysiak, Malcolm Upward, Garry Ward and your chairman Dave Workman - first of all wish a very Happy New Year to everyone here today, and especially to our loyal FaST members. It is still hard to take in everything that has happened, on and off the field, since the arrival of Simon Hollis and his team and 2009 in particularly brought probably the most extraordinary improvement to a non-league club. Your support, both financial and practical, over the past year has kept us going and results are here for all to see. The stand has started, temporarily stopped and now sprung back to life, and donations to FaST over the last year have resulted in an extraordinary total of £23,000 raised specifically towards the PRE development. You will see results of the most recent work today and while there is still much to be done – notably the sides and roof and the facilities planned for the area underneath the seating – you can be proud of the fantastic contribution we have been able to make to Simon as a result of your efforts. Thank you all very much.

We are hoping to announce our next major new fund-raiser as soon as possible, which will take us through to the end of this season. This will not be dependent of the vagaries of the fixture list (we hope!) unlike the somewhat ill-fated....

FaST Race Night

Once again, due to rearranged fixtures, we find that our planned date of January 19 now clashes with the away match at Banbury. So it’s back to the drawing board once again and we are currently crossing everything that will cross to find a date in March. Our thanks again to all sponsors and contributors for your patience.

Today is your last day to place an order for the next phase of the Walk of Fame inside the turnstiles. If you want your name or that of a friend, your company, or any other (very) brief message, today is the day. The FaST table operatives have the forms which you can fill in on the spot. Yellow lettering costs £25 and gold is £35. Don’t worry though – the scheme will be continuing

Enjoy today’s game and COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!
