FaST Programme notes – Nuneaton Borough, December 5, 2009
Richard Walden tribute bucket collection; Race Night new date; New FaST Board member
Next week’s FA Trophy match against Newport County will be marked as a special tribute to a man whose passing both teams are honouring today – Richard Walden. Richard’s career included spells at both Cherrywood Road and Newport, and next week’s bucket collection will be collected for and donated to a charity’s of his family’s choice – more next week.
FaST Race Night – the new date!
With so many league (and Cup!) games this season, our Race Night had to be postponed/rearranged from its original date. Mark your diaries NOW – the new date for the evening is TUESDAY JANUARY 19, in the Platinum Lounge. Doors open 7.00pm, first of 8 races is at 7.30 and there will be full upstairs bar service throughout. All races are now sponsored, but there will an opportunity to buy remaining horses and jockeys and have the chance to win a CD of your choice.
Buy a paver – closing date for next phase
We plan to place our next order of pavers for the Walk of Fame inside the turnstiles early in the New Year. So, if you want your name, or that of a friend, your company, or any other (very) brief message, you have until January 1 to place your order. If you would like to give one as a Christmas present, see Linda at the FaST table who will organise a certificate to use as your gift.
Away travel
We have a batch of away games coming up and our Chairman has been working overtime to organise the coaches. Those who travelled with FaST to Swindon Supermarine (and what a game that was from start to finish!) saw the ticket price reduce by half as more and more of you took up the seats. Check the FaST web site for full details of the trips to Banbury, Bashley (again!!), Bedford and Stourbridge
New FaST Board member
Since the departure of Stuart Bazen and Martin Price, the FaST Board has been without representation from the youth teams. We are delighted to have now rectified that, and welcome Malcolm Upward to the Board. Malcolm was proposed, seconded and elected at FaST's Board meeting last week and took up his position immediately. Malcolm has been Chairman of Farnborough Youth FC since April 2008 and a manager/coach at the club since 2003. The Youth setup currently has over 110 registered players in eight teams of under 18 age groups. They also have a Sunday group to provide an introduction to football for four & five year olds. In March 2009, the club achieved FA Charter Standard status. The youth teams, run independently from Farnborough FC's Youth Academy, are a vital part of the club's future and we are delighted that Malcolm has agreed to join the FaST Board
Enjoy today’s game and COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!
