We did promise to include our programme notes here for those FaST members unable to make home games - and we've been somewhat remiss. But, here are Dave Workman's notes for the Wealdstone game
Today we continue our efforts in the FA Trophy a competition that provides Wembley as a Holy Grail of a final match. Those of us who made the trip to Worcester last weekend were rewarded with a continuation of our unbeaten run and the sight of Bradley Bubb notching a late winner.
50/50, bucket collection – Chippenham.Last Saturday’s game brought £89 for both the 50/50 draw winner Alan Churchill and the FaST funds. The winning ticket was number 9128. With Pat and John shaking the Ground Development buckets at half time another £123.58 was donated by our fans and included a large bag of change given by one generous Boro fan. Brian Berger’s Guess the Crowd competition added another £27. It was won by Platinum Lounge member John Barry’s guess of 874. This was remarkably close to the actual crowd of 869. Anyone is welcome to submit a guess just speak to Brian before the game. Well done to all who took part in these activitiess.
Away TravelThe next two coaches are scheduled for the Stourbridge game next Tuesday November 24 and Swindon on Saturday 28th November. We need 20 travelling to Stourbridge to make the coach viable at £21 for members, £23 for non-members and £11 for under-16’s and £15, £17 and £8 to Swindon. As the coach to Swindon will be a 49 seater, the prices could fall dramatically if there is a strong uptake. To book your place, please visit the FaST table, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or call/text Dave on 07786 625773.
Farnborough FlagsThe two winning designs are now being progressed and the current expectation is a delivery in early December. The manufacturers need the designs in hi-resolution at task with which message-board member ‘Seered’ is helping us and thus reducing the overall cost.
Farney’s Firework ExtravaganzaThe display was terrific and very popular with 2720 people populating the stands of Cherrywood Road for the event. An additional 50/50 Draw brought a prize of £40 for Mr. S. Somerville’s ticket number 9554 and Neil Bunker’s mum supported by Pat Roche earned another £44.20 making and selling pumpkin soup and hot drinks.
The Pavers Walk of FameIt is our intention to announce a closing date early in the New Year for a second phase of pavers. So if you are thinking about ordering a paver for Christmas then it will be produced and installed shortly after you order. Yellow pavers are £25 each, whilst gold ones cost £35 – orders can be taken at the FaST table or application forms are available on the FaST website.
Enjoy today’s game and COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!Dave Workman (doing his best in the absence of David Hughes!)
