Away Travel - particularly Truro

With some trepidation Dave has taken over arranging coaches to away matches from Bob, whose boots will be difficult to fill. Little did he know that the first Saturday away game would be Truro! Indeed some of our longest trips have been scheduled at the start of the season. As well as Truro we travel to Clevedon (on the August Bank Holiday weekend), Tiverton, Merthyr Tydfil, Stourbridge and Evesham (still at Worcester I believe).

So Truro, Multimap suggests it is a 5 hour drive in a car and who knows how long on an August holiday weekend particularly in a coach. Negotiations are underway as to whether or not this trip is viable/sensible but at this stage fans may like to know that the train journey from Reading to Truro takes 4 hours. The train station is 10 minutes walk from Truro's ground. There are trains scheduled that arrive comfortably in time for the match and one that returns arriving at Reading in time for the last train back to Farnborough North.

Tickets cost £73.00 if purchased on the day; £54.50 if bought now (I believe this is the price 3 weeks before the date of travel) and £35.95 using a Railcard and buying now. These fares change very little if you decide you would rather stay in Truro overnight and return on Sunday.
